Note: up until this point its also pretty much a concensus that they’re still together. Since Karlie hinted the folklore aesthetic and cardigan on her ig post, and Taylor changed the cardigan lyrics to “knew you’d come back to me” and wrote “the lakes” and obviously there is “peace”. From this point on, especially after the WB stuff and pregnancy rumors in September (?) things start to get kinda blurry and gaylors and kaylors start building different point of views. So heres what happens:

- Taylor releases the long pond sessions where she says that joe is WB. I feel like we kinda all believe he isn’t, the thing that gives it for me is mostly Taylor’s body language and the way she stutters when she says it. Also, its kinda weird that out of nowhere joe got this songwriting skills magically. Like, they’ve been “together” for four years and only now Taylor discoveres this man has better songwriting and composing skills than his actual job, idk sounds fishy to me but, you make the call.

- Pregnancy rumors starts flowing on both sides. Taylor quickly starts drinking a shit ton of wine to get her beloved swiffers to come to the realization that she is in fact not pregnant. Karlie’s rumors also starts flowing, and then the people! (?) article comes out confirming it and Karlie later posts a video on her instagram. Here’s where it gets messy. Ill try to explain shortly to you the narrative on the Kaylor side and why i don’t believe in the gaylor narrative. Obviously its your choice wheter you believe it or not.

- Kaylor: The baby is Taylor’s and Karlie’s (not gonna get into hows and stuff bc if it is actually real then it is invading their privacy too much, also speculating about this might trigger some people). 

Things that back this theory up: obviously peace “give you a child”, karlie not tagging j*sh*a on her vids, that one 2,1/2 photo from the folklore photoshoot, buns and tamagochi, Taylor and Paul talking about parenthood in the Rolling Stone issue, and all the fertility imagery in evermore and folklore.

Karlie was in Cali in may until august, Taylor was also there. Jerk was on Ny or Miami cant exactly remeber. And it seems that this is what she wrote that one line “knew youd come back to me” in cardigan about. (IMO they [t and k] had some fight after the masters sale on the end of 2019 and took a break or something, so she would in fact come back to her, but just my opinion). So, karlie was there from may to august, karlie’s is on the end of her pregnancy, and if you do the math, she got pregnant sometime between june and july. Which makes it kinda impossible for the baby to be jerk’s (consequently ending the gaylor narrative) since he was in another place and karlie was on cali for like 4 months, if the baby was his, the baby would’ve been born already.

The gaylor narrative is mostly based on Taylor’s songs specially champagne problems, coney island, hoax, closure and exile.

Coney Island isn’t even necessarily a breakup song, it’s just simply a sad song, it is like death by a thousand cuts pt2, it gives the vibe that Taylor is sorry about a lot of things like not being able to thank Karlie “but when i walked up to the podium i think that i forgot to say your name”.

Like coney island, hoax is about the lows of their relationship but it’s clear in the song that taylor still loves karlie and would trade her for anything “don’t want no other shade of blue but you”

Closure and champagne: it just reminds me of Dianna for some reason i don’t even know how to explain it. Champagne Problems remind some of Dianna bc of i know places where she says “take my hand and don’t ever drop it”, to the gp that song is about harry(<3) and most songs that “are about him” are actually about Dianna. i do think it’s is kinda inspired by Karlie though.

Exile: honestly could be used to form a toe breakup narrative.

TBH we’ll probably never understand fully the story behind it. But Taylor also said that a lot of the albums are full of fantasy even thought they’re also inspired by real life situations.

you scrape the bottom of your motivational barrel to drag your lifeless body out of bed at 5:30am

you’d promised minho that you would come to work early so he could teach you how to make a couple of his signature flaming cocktails

(even though anyone would know that all it takes is adding a layer of strong booze on top of any drink and setting it on fire)

but he was determined to share all his bartending secrets and make you his apprentice

so your bus pulls up outside the back entrance of the restaurant, located down a dark alleyway that’s illuminated by a single red neon sign

you stumble half-asleep across the concrete and approach the backdoor covered in bright graffiti art

you freeze hearing a noise echo from a shadowed corner of the alley

the cat scurries away as he jumps to his feet

“just felt like cooking” he scratches his head, “maybe try a couple new dishes i’ve been thinking of”

it was no wonder why you'd barely seen jisung despite working at god’s menu for almost a month

he was always the first to come and the last to go home, never leaving the kitchen during his shifts except to greet the diners when it was quiet

part of you had assumed he was the stand-offish, nonconformist type

but maybe you were wrong

jisung scrambles through his backpack for the key to the backdoor that’s hidden under a mess of tangled earphones and assorted snacks

the door opens with a screech

“lee minho......” you curse under your breath upon discovering that your ‘mentor’ is nowhere to be seen

“i like aaanybody that can make me yummy food” you giggled to yourself like a little kid

“doesn’t that make jisung your ideal type?” minho smirked, prodding at your flushed cheeks

“mmmm...... jisung.....” just the sound of his name made your smile grow wide as you repeated it over and over in a sing-song tone, “haann jiiiisssuung”

you wonder if he’s already told jisung, but the young chef looks too caught up in organising his ingredients to even look at you

“have you eaten?” he asks without shifting his focus from the shiitake mushrooms he’s slicing

“good! i’ll make you something” he smiles, his eyes curving into crescent moons that make his cheeks puff up a tiny bit

you feel the urge to politely refuse but you know a good meal could help distract you from the nerves

“okay deal. but you have to let me help!” you roll up your sleeves and force an enthusiastic smile

he nods, carefully handing you the knife

it’s a mixture of nervousness and the fact that you’ve never been the greatest cook that results in some very wonky-looking mushrooms

jisung peers over at you from where he’s preparing the soup base

“yeah please help me” you quickly concede

he chuckles slightly, positioning himself next to you and hovering his hand over yours

“your technique is good, you just need to take it a little slower” he leads your hands with a gentle touch, “focus on precision over speed”

you feel his breath against your ear and try your best not to flinch, conscious of the sharp object you’re holding

you rush to change the subject and break through through the awkward silence

your mind wanders to the few times when you’ve seen him present his dishes to customers with so much satisfaction and pride, like he’d spent his whole life perfecting the one meal

it was hard to imagine an ounce of self-doubt in his system

“but i knew i had to pursue my dream” he continues, “i had to cross any boundaries”

you feel a sense of deep admiration make your heart go warm as you watch him silently and slowly repeat the words to himself

he suddenly turns to you with a glimmer of determination in his eyes

you stare back at him blankly for a few seconds while your brain tries to process the words

noticing the way he’s literally holding his breath and might pass out at any moment, you give a few quick nods

A Simplified Guide To LOOΠΔ: Kpop's Most Anticipated Girl Group Of 2018

New and old Kpop fans alike can agree that learning a new group can be very daunting. From duos to a fully fledged, 10+ member group, things can get a little confusing during the learning process. LOONA (stylized as LOOΠΔ) is an upcoming, twelve-member girl group that every Kpop fan should get to know! However, even their "pre-debut" process has been quite extensive. With almost 30 unique music videos, three pre-debut units, various promotions, modeling for the brand "Innisfree," and 360+ "LOONA TV" episodes, it's no doubt that even just looking at the group's YouTube channel can be overwhelming. So, where does one start? I am here to give a simplified walk-through of the group's members, their back story, their unique (and detailed) debut concept, and the highlights of what to check out! Follow my lead and you'll soon become a LOONA expert— even before they officially debut! THE HISTORY Way back in October of 2016, Blockberry Entertainment, a subsidiary of Polaris Entertainment, initiated themselves as an official company for the first time to the public through a post on Naver. At the same time, they revealed their plans for a new kind of girl group and announced the 18-month long pre-debut project that would lead to their debut sometime in 2018. LOONA is also known as 이달의 소녀 (Idalui Sonyeo) which translates to "Girl of the Month." The name was tied to the concept that each of the twelve members would be revealed individually each month and release their own solo music and MV. All of the pre-debut songs released by LOONA would be streamed and sold as digital tracks. After a few members released their solo tracks, those same members would then come together to perform as a sub-unit. Each sub-unit promoted their title tracks on music programs for a period of time, and their songs were sold on physical mini-albums as well, some of them with various versions. After the sub-units were done promoting, the process would begin again with more members being introduced individually. Around the same time as gaining the copyright for the name 이달의 소녀 , BlockBerry also trademarked 이달의 소년 (Idalui Sonyeon) which translates to "Boy of the Month." This has given fans the feeling there will be an upcoming male group from BlockBerry Creative who will debut with a similar pre-debut concept. The group's icon is actually made of the first Hangul letter in each syllable of their Korean name. When rearranged, it creates the name LOOΠΔ in Romanized letters which acts as the group's international name.

THE CONCEPT The members of LOONA have been active throughout their own series of videos called "LOONA TV." There has been over 360 of them since the first one that was posted back on October 12th, 2016. They range anywhere from 20 seconds long to a minute long (with a few of them being 10-12 minutes long). They usually show the girls messing around, buying gifts for each other, or preparing for their music videos, photoshoots, and pre-debut promotional events. After delving deeper into research on the group, I came to notice unique patterns and themes. These include "mirrored" tracks, connected members, and something called the LOONA-verse! The mirrored tracks would include songs released (usually duets or a solo member featuring on another member) in-between the "official" releases. They would include: two of the same songs with slightly altered lyrics, two songs with the exact same theme, one song acting as an intro for the second song, or both songs having the same melody and lyrics but being an entirely different genre. Some of these include: Haseul & Yeojin's "My Melody" vs. Heejin & Hyunjin's "My Sunday" ViVi's "Everyday I Love You" vs. "Everyday I Need You" LOONA 1/3's "Love and Live" vs "Love and Evil" Kim Lip's "Eclipse" (Produced by Cha Cha Malone) vs. "Twilight" (Produced by Daniel Obi Klein) ODD EYE CIRCLE's "Girl Front" and "ODD Front" ODD EYE CIRCLE's "ODD" and "ADD" On top of those tracks, quite a few acoustic versions of title songs were released alongside the original. Many instances of play-on-word connections like Go WON's "ONE and only" and Choerry's "Love CHERRY motion" are seen. Chuu's debut song "Heart Attack" became a big deal for its music video with light, romantic, homosexual themes. Chuu is seen having a little crush on her fellow member Yves, whose own song lyrics, interestingly enough, mirror the lyrics of "Heart Attack." According to fans, "Heart Attack" was heard being played at various pride celebrations around South Korea. The LOONA-verse was first mentioned with the release of the second sub-unit's (ODD EYE CIRCLE) music video for "Girl Front" on September 20th, 2017. The description of the video explains the creation of the first subgroup, LOONA 1/3. It mentions that the "3" in the name consists of HeeJin, Hyunjin, and Haseul. Yeojin joined to add "/" and ViVi joined to add their "1," creating LOONA 1/3. ODD EYE CIRCLE, consisting of Kim Lip, JinSoul, and Choerry, has a darker concept video with hard-hitting, techno-influenced tracks. Within the music videos for "Eclipse," "Singing in The Rain," and "Love Cherry Motion," various moons are seen, as well as a unique color pattern that fans began to connect to each member. The word ODD was to represent the unique style of these three, as well as the fact that ODD looks like three moons stacked upon each other. The teasers for the sub-unit also revolved around moons, and eclipses were seen within each member's eyes. Finally, the third and final pre-debut sub-unit, LOONA yyxy, made their debut through "love4eva," released on May 30th, 2018. It was filmed in Budapest and featured Grimes, a famous Canadian songwriter and music producer. The description of this video seems to be pulling the band together finally, showing how each of the solo members have joined together to make a sub-unit, and now the sub-units will combine to "create a world." While LOONA 1/3 sang about the excitement of first love, LOONA ODD EYE CIRCLE followed up with a sense of courage to go after that love. LOONA yyxy rounded it out beautifully within their album's tracks by singing of how sweet and luminous their fulfilled love is. However, yyxy member's solo tracks (noteably "Egoist" and "new"), interestingly enough, showed themes of self-worth and staying away from negative relationships. Through various video descriptions and hints dropped within each MV, fans have found a unique thread that connects some members to others. It seems as though the LOONA-verse consists of three alternate universes of some sort that will collide and complete the beginning of LOONA's story for their official debut. THE BOTTOM LINE On top of pre-debut promotions with LOONA, members Hyunjin, Heejin and Haseul were contestants on the YG Entertainment's competition program "MIXNINE". Heejin made it all the way into the top 9 finalists until changes were made by the company and the group did not end up debuting as planned. Recently as well, within another video description, it was revealed that a ballad album, entitled LOONA Ballad, was in the works and is planned to be released in 2019. There is no doubt how much great music there is to explore through LOONA, even before their official debut! A huge variety of music styles are present, from broadway-exque showtunes to jazzy electro-swing and provocative pop melodies with EDM chorus beats. Still feeling overwhelmed, however No worries! Many of the official music videos have been translated and subtitled in English. The song "LOONATIC" by ODD EYE CIRCLE is fully in English and was created to be the sub-unit's "international" title track. The official YouTube channel "loonatheworld" dropped a teaser video on June 10th showing the whole group performing together for the first time. Entitled, "(LOONA) go into Orbit," it revealed the date of the group's premiere greeting concert "Line Up" to be August 19th, 2018! This is likely when their debut music video will also be released, and fans are ecstatic at how soon it is! You’d been going out for three months now and everything still felt new to you. Your nerves of meeting the other members soon passed as they welcomed you into the group, all of you quickly joking and feeling as though you’d known one another for years.

Namjoon

Noise filled the restaurant, most of it coming from your table as everyone lost themselves in conversation over the meal. Namjoon had been trying unsuccessfully to get your attention from across the table for a few minutes now but you were completely lost in conversation with Hoseok about their upcoming choreography. When Namjoon finally had enough of the two of your joking about Namjoon’s difficulty with the moves he cleared his throat and said loud enough for his voice to carry over everyone else’s, “Noona.” As soon as you heard his tone of voice you looked around quickly, an apologetic expression on your face as you sheepishly nibbled at your lip.

Before you could voice you apology Hoseok grabbed your face in his hands and stared at you intently, it was as if he was looking for something and you begun to wonder if you had food on your face. “No.” He broke the silence, “I can’t believe it.” A grin pulled at his lips as he tugged you into a hug and laughed out loud, “There’s no way she’s older than me.”

“Actually,” Namjoon smirked from across the table, “She’s older than all of you.” He gave a pointed look to Jin, who in turn looked at you in disbelief.

Their mouths drop at the new information and everyone stays quiet as they process it before Hoseok looks at you while scratching the back of his neck, “Oops!” He tried to laugh it off, “I guess I should be more respectful to you now.”

Your hand squeezed Jin’s as the two of you followed behind the group, lost in your own conversation as you wandered through the theme park. His squeaking laugh filled your ears as you chuckled along with him, “Jin, stop it!” You laughed, playfully hitting his arm, “If you keep saying stuff like that I’ll laugh too much and stop breathing.”

His mouth dropped and he dramatically pulled your hand to his chest, “Y/N, are you saying that I take your breath away?”

A pained groan came from the members and Taehyung grabbed at your hand to pull you away from Jin, “Hyung, if you keep this up Y/N is going to leave you!”

“Aish!” He hit Taehyung over the back of the head, “Show some respect you little brat.”

Taehyung rubbed at the back of his head and he pouted at the eldest member, “At least I called you Hyung.”

Jin rolled his eyes at Taehyung as he pulled you back to his side, “I wasn’t talking about me. You do realise Y/N is older than me, right?”

“Jin.” You grumbled, cheeks going rosey from embarrassment as you hit him again.

“What?” He smiled down at you, “You know how much I love that you’re older than me. I just want to make sure everyone treats you as well as you deserve.”

Yoongi

“How about this one?” Namjoon offered, holding out the bottle of wine to Jin.

Jin nodded before gesturing for him to take it to the table. Every good cook knows to pick the perfect wine to match their meal. With dinner fresh on the table everyone eagerly sat down as the food was served for each of them.

The group made a toast to the pair of you which left you blushing while Yoongi shrugged it off and sipped at his wine. “I’ve always loved wine.” He muttered and Jimin raised an eyebrow at him questioningly as he continued, “Age always makes things taste better.” When Yoongi looked at you with a smirk, his tongue running suggestively over his lips, the gears started to turn inside Jimin’s head.

“Uh, I don’t mean to be rude, Y/N…” He started, unable to look at you now, “But how old are you?”

A chuckle left your lips and you reached under the table to squeeze Yoongi’s thigh, letting him know you were going to pay him back for this later despite the sweet smile on your lips, “Actually I’m the same age as Jin.”

Jin perked up at the mention of his name and he grinned over at you, “I knew there was a reason I liked you right away!” His laughter filled the room, soon followed by everyone else’s.

Hoseok

Originally you’d sat on the sidelines and watched the boys practice their new routine, mouth agape in awe as you saw hem handle the complicated moves with well practiced ease. When the song came to a close you found yourself applauding and your boyfriend strode over to you with a proud grin on his face before enveloping you in a hug. “You did so well.” You beamed, squeezing him back.

“Can you dance, Y/N?” Jungkook asked from across the room before downing half a bottle of water.

A sarcastic laugh broke from your lips and you stepped back from Hoseok, “That depends, is the Roger Rabbit still a thing?”

Hoseok’s laughter filled the room as everyone else stared at you in silence, a mixture of questions dancing through their heads. “Now you’re really showing your age, babe!” He pulled you in for another tight hug, this time lifting you off the ground and twirling you around the room with him, “My beautiful, radiant, oblivious Queen.” He mused before finally setting you down again and kissing your forehead.

Jimin

Jimin would often say he wasn’t the jealous type, but as he watched the director lean in to whisper something in your ear he’d finally had enough. Originally he’d thought the only worry about bringing you along to the set of their new MV would be having to deal with his fellow members talking to you, but his worries were right off. Without a word he walked over and grabbed you by the wrist, pulling you away from the director and over to the dressing room before making you sit in the chair next to his as they started touching up his makeup.

“Um…Jimminie is everything okay?” You asked tentatively, trying to catch his attention as he glared at his reflection in the mirror.

The chuckle of Namjoon could be heard from beside you as he entered the room, “You need to watch your temper, Jimin. The director’s too old for her anyway.” He gave you a reassuring smile as he passed you, finding his own chair.

A huff broke from Jimin’s lips and he rolled his eyes, “She’s only two years younger than him.”

It was your turn to glare now as you pierced your gaze through Jimin, “Age doesn’t mean anything, Jimin. But if you really think I should date someone more my age then maybe I will.”

As soon as the words left your lips you regretted them, letting your frustration get the best of you. Jimin locked his eyes with you, a mixture of emotions swimming in them, “Y/N-” He cut himself off, rethinking his words again as he closed the space between you and pulled you into a tight hug, “I’m sorry, Y/N. It’s just…I don’t like seeing other guys around you. I don’t want to lose you.”

“Wait…she’s older than us?” Namjoon muttered to no one in particular as he looked at you in shock.

Taehyung

Taehyung was proud of everything you did and was always eager to tell the members of even the smallest of your accomplishments, though today’s announcement was far from small in your world it still caught you off guard when he suddenly wrapped his arms around your waist in a back hug, box grin pulling at his lips as he interrupted yours and Yoongi’s conversation, “Isn’t my Y/N smart!” pride was radiating from him as he continued, “It’s no wonder she graduated top of her class at uni!”

“Congrats.” Yoongi gave you a small smile, the other members joining the conversation now with their own congratulations.

Jin patted you on the shoulder with a grin, “Did you just graduate, Y/N?”

A nervous chuckle left your lips as you smiled up at him, “Same year as you, actually. Just different major.”

His lips snapped and ‘O’ as he nodded, “Well it’s good to have someone else to help reign in the kids.” Soon both of your laughter filled the room, the youngest three members’ complaints falling on deaf ears.

Jungkook

Jimin and Taehyung were nestled on the ground under a blanket, Jin and Hoseok sharing one side of the couch and a blanket while mindlessly munching away at a bowl of popcorn, Yoongi at comfortably on a chair to himself, eyes only half open as he watched the movie without paying attention and Namjoon sat on a chair stolen from the kitchen, eyes glued to the TV as he took in every detail of the movie.

Then there was you, comfortably curled into Jungkook with you arms around each other and head resting on his chest. The soft blanket was wrapped snugly around the two of you as you enjoyed each other’s heat, the familiar scent of your boyfriend filling your senses.

It was halfway through the movie and slowly your attention was drawn further and further away - just as Jungkook’s hand was smoothing further and further up your thigh. A soft chuckle left your lips as you nudged him, “Oppa~” You whined, his hand tightening on your thigh at the words leaves your lips, that one name you know irks him, “I actually want to see this.”

Jimin let out a huff in annoyance, “How come you never call us Oppa?” He looked back over his shoulder at you, Taehyung quickly following suit as he draped himself over Jimin to look at you.

“Yeah, Y/N! You should call us Oppa too!” He grinned, causing your blush to deepen as you hid your face in Jungkook’s chest.

You could feel Jungkook shaking underneath you and when you realised it was from his weak attempts at holding back his laughter you pulled away from him, taking the blanket with you as you stood up, “You’re right. I should only call my elders Oppa.” Jungkook’s gaze hardened as a warning but by now you were past caring - that would be a future Y/N issue. “Hoseok, scootch over. I want to sit with Jin-Oppa.” Your gaze was fixed on Jungkook, watching as his jaw clenched as you pulled the final straw.

A small yelp left you as Jungkook’s arms wrapped around your waist and pulled you back onto the couch, “Aish, Y/N!” Your laughter filled the room as he started relentlessly tickling your sides, body squirming against his, “I might be younger, but I’ll have to teach you some respect.”

It hadn’t quite clicked with them all at first, but slowly as each member realised not only roughly what age you were, but the reason you’d muttered that now dorm-banned word, they all reacted with a range of reactions; from making kissing sounds at the two of you, laughing until their stomachs hurt, gagging at the thought, and telling the two of you to get a room.
